My carpentry knowledge = minus 5
Total cost: €25
Materials: 2 pinus planks 40x60cm, 1 rotating steel circle with ball bearings, 1 can of walnut stain, 6 steel screws.

Cut the planks and stain them. One round 32cm, and the base square 40x40cm.

Turntable in use.
It is portable, it goes on top of any table, it is not heavy and I hope it will gain personality, patina, wabi-sabi after long time being used.
Total time spent building it: 4 hours.

Thanks Felidae, I hope it will be of some help for many people.
Yes, it is little, but I guess for the giant trees I will need another approach.
But it can hold 200 kilos, which is a lot I guess...

For me is sure! Currently I use an ugly and surprisingly unstable office chair base. The hardest will be to find those ball bearing rings in my area..

Felidae, this is simply not so difficult.
My first try in Google brought me up dozens of examples like mine, including from Amazon.
Don't ask me why, but it is called in some parts of North America "Lazy Susan".
Or should I say "lazy Felidae"?
