Sloppy job, isn't it?
To be honest, the wires are holding the dead branches before they lignify. Yes, a poor excuse, but once they get the job done the wires go down for a whole season. I expect cutting off the wires in 3 to 4 months.
Sorry, I wonder how hurried I was at the time. Shame on me, @Leatherback!

:) It was not a stab at the wiring done, but more a looking forward to the work that is still to be done.

I try to remember but I do not think a dead branch lignifies, as this is a process of the living. Not sure what you would call it though!
