Talking in the local society meeting Monday, one of the other members told me how he air layers. He has a small colander, with a large hole he cut in the bottom, has a slit in the side, spreads it apart, and wraps it around where the air layering is, then fills that up with peat moss or whatever, and waters it every day. He said it has always worked.

Done it too, not with a colander though, but with a pond basket. I wrapped that basket in cling film after filling it with sphagnum moss. I don't have to water it every day.
