I’ve read a lot about air layering lately and am going to give it a try. One thing no one mentions is watering. Do you add water to the moss at the initially when you wrap the area or water the moss regularly?

Depending on how the air layer is done, and there are various methods, the moss is soaked and when wrapped in polythene should not need watering again, but a hypodermic syringe can be used to inject water if it is needed.

I just started an air layer project using a plastic ball arrangement that includes a funnel shape on top. Every couple of days I pour some water in, but it won't take much. I have wrapped them in plastic and had birds peck holes. I had success with tin foil, making a little funnel shape on top, and that worked.
