Pot repair

A couple of my pots have body cracks, most likely as a result of soil expansion in the winter. I need your advice on glue and method used to repair those. Thank you.

Althou I have not repaired pots myself, I know there are an ancient art of pot repar in Japan. It is called Kintsugi. Maybe an option? I just realized you can buy brand new Kintsugi bonsai pots as well.

The Kintsugi is a special Art to repair Ceramics an Bonsai Pots, very nice repair but a lot of work !
Some Specialist will do that but make only sense for valuable Pots because the repair should be not cheap.
For normal Pots, if they have Cracks but still in one Piece,.. you need a runny liquid Glue like "Cyanacrylat-Glue" in Europe we say "Glue in Seconds" , if you have really broken Pots, you can choose other Glue which ist good for Ceramics.

I have done a fair bit of pot repairs using a small diamond drill and steel wire. Just drilling holes along the cracks and stich it together with the wire. I think it looks nice and it lasts long time. However, never done it on bonsai pots. Never needed.

If I need to repair bonsai pots myself, I would definetely try kintsugi. There are cheap beginner kits awailable here.

That way i repair my MX-Mudgards and its perfect, but i will never use that workstep at Ceramics. The Crack is still there and you add some small Holes, in my Eyes more worse than before.
Kintsugi repair is only possible if the Pot is broken not for Cracks ( I think ?! )
