Is my Corokia tree dead? was created by sarahbear

Posted 8 months 2 hours ago #81725
I bought this Corokia Bonsai tree over a year ago. It has had daily water and sunlight but has been in this condition for quite a while - sparse grey/brown leaves. Is there any way to resurrect it?

Many thanks in advance!

Cool! Never seen a corokia bonsai before. Too bad you lost it.

never water to a schedule, water when the surface is almost dry.

if this is a Cotoneaster then it does not belong inside, that is what has killed it.

I agree with Geoff.

It looks like beeing in very well draining soil. For summer once a day to twice a day watering seems like ok. But in winter it must be much less. How to water is also important. Correct watering indoors makes quite a mess, hence most people do not water indoor trees correct.

Anyway: watering did not kill this tree. Indoor keeping of subtropical trees deprieves them from the much needed rest and empties all the reserves. Most critical time of the year is in early spring when they do not have energy left to push new growth. Are you in the Southern hemisphere?
