Ficus and Trapped Heat

Hi. I have a Ficus bonsai by my window and my room gets really hot. I was wondering if the tree was okay with this high temperature--it is sunny, just really hot. I wanted to make sure that the bonsai is okay with this, so that's why I asked in the forum; I know they like a lot of sunlight, just wanted to ask about the temperature. Thanks!

We do not know what "really hot" means to you, hence it is hard to tell if it is too hot or not.

But generally ficuses are tropica plants and are happy with everything between 10 and 35 degrees. The upper level only if the tree is well watered and humidity is high. Short periods of temperature above or below is not an emediate danger.

You can't placed the ficus too hot, you'll never be able to do that, the ficus will LOVE it, ... of course it has to be watered accordingly.

Even 100 degrees???

How do you want to generate 100C except with a fire ??
But 50C works (messured airtemperature in the sun) and the ficus rewards with a lot of growth !

I guess you do not concider humidity as a factor since you live in a tropica country with always high humidity?

Normal indoor humidity in central heated homes is around 40%, under that cirkumstances 50 degrees would kill ficus in a short period.

Thanks for the answer--between 10 and 35 degrees Celsius. I figure my room gets to about 90 degrees Farenheit; I now know the Ficus is fine with that. Thanks!

My ficus placed outdoor, full sun (50 C in the sun, about 40 C in shadow) with very low humidity.
I base my contribution on observations and not on conjectures !

Conjectures, interesting. I needed to check that up. I think it could be interpreted as very negative coment aimed at a specific person or that persons experience, couldnt it?

I think we need to establish real numbers here. How often do you get 50c? What is very low humidity?
