A small Limax in the soil?!

Hi guys! I have a question about my bonsai and I would be very happy if you could help me.
I bought a little Carmina Bonsai yesterday and when I got home I saw a little Limax coming out from the soil. It was like the worms you go fishing with. Are they harmful for the tree or for the soil? What can I do to make a "detoxification" to the soil but to not harm the bonsai? Do you think I can still keep it in my room or shout I move it outside, even if my bonsai is for indoor.

I didn't ask them. I just threw the limax away in the garden. I was wondering if it made any eggs in the soil or if I should use any pesticides on the soil.

The answer to your question is cultural based. Ask an american and you may get all kinds of poisons to solve the issue. In Europe we never used much pesticides, nowadays all of them is prohibited and no longer for sale.

Some slugs may be a threat to your tree, others not. All slugs lay eggs in the soil.

In any case, I would not take a slug from an imported tree and let it out in the garden. If you are unfortunate you just released an invasive species into your garden.

What matters more is where the tree was grown, and really what matters is where the dirt came from. This might be a species from far away that would go wild destroying stuff, or it might be a species with several hundred out in the yard already.

Our slug killer from what they 60 years ago was salt. I would not put that on one now; I think it was rather cruel. If I had yours, I would just knock it onto the porch or sidewalk and step on it. Then I would watch the plant to see if more hatch.
