A little update on this.
It has been growing for a while unprunned, so I felt like it was time to select some branches and do some wiring...
Theres that Power branch that came out on a really nice spot, aiming for making It the first one.

Here's the result so far...

Thanks Tropfrog! It has been very satisfying work on this tree and share the progress with you guys, might be silly, but I feel like we are doing it together... hahahah

There's still a long way to go, and I feel like I have some rough decisions to make next spring regarding some branches that I might remove (air layering maybe), leaving some scar that will take a few years to heal (at least the lower one).

And that's a point to learn with, when it's a fast developing tree, you must be extra quick on some decisions, but it requires some experience on visualizing what will it become.

(btw, on the last message where's writen "Power" it was supposed to be "lower" :P)

Here's some lines showing the points I'm talking about:

Nice work!

I think for your cuts, think about whether you want to keep the current planting angle, or maybe, tilt it to the left and use the other primary as your main trunk.

for me, this tree has two heads, I am of the opinion of Albas to remove this large right branch, the line of the trunk in black line is very good, can be reduced the two dranches in the circle !!!

Hello fellas!

Time for an update on this one.

Attachment ImagemdoWhatsAppde2023-06-14s22.31.20.jpg not found

It's almost winter here so don't mind the ugly leaves =P, and that on the trunk is water (it's raining) so don't worry.
I have removed the excessive branches and leaves in early autumn so I could later reach them and wire it, so I'm taking this moment when trees aren't much active to wire them.

This one took a while to finish.
I decided to give up on the japanese styles guidelines for this one, I'm going for a more naturalistic umbrela shape, very typical of a Ficus.
I don't pretend to make this one giant, actually I think the final height is about what it is right now.
It will probably thicken a bit more, because the plan right now is to thicken those lower branches, make them longer and position their ramifications to achieve the umbrella shape.

It's been a lot of fun to work on this tree.

Sorry for the photo at night.

Hello ppl!

Just a small update, this is the 3rd year of this Ficus, and I had to prune the roots quite severely to improve it's base, which is coming out nicely.
(Don't worry, it's fine, xD)
Also screwed on that piece of plywood, to develop roots properly radial.

There's still some stuff I want to do, like thickening a bit that lower branch and make it a bit longer.

There's almost no leaves because I reduced it, I'll probably prune it more compact too, it's a bit tall, and you can notice some long tips that I left there just for safety.

It went back to a development pot.
