Hi Everyone! :)

I thought I would share my new tiny bonsai figurines which are often displayed on penjing landscapes as well as some bonsai or, as a complimentary decoration next to a Shohin or Mame bonsai. I recently discovered a tiny market in my town that is only open on weekends. Much to my delight, I met a lovely Chinese lady there who is selling these and many other wonderful Asian peices. She took the time to explain to me what the figurines represent...especially the three men groupings. She said she could bring in some pots and young bonsai for me to see. I can't wait to go back to see her again...hopefully this weekend! :cheer: Here are some photos: Enjoy!

And the whole gang! I just luv these!

I really appreciate both the glazed and the unglazed. I think the choice would be much like choosing a pot to suit your Bonsai. I would choose my figurine to suit the pot and the bonsai. The fine detail in these pieces are amazing...the facial features and expressions, hand and finger expression, right down to the scales on the fish.

Thank you, Jelle!

Nice find indeed! This tiny, soft-spoken woman travels to the city of Toronto to pick up all of her wonderful wares. :)

Gorgeous additions to your collection. Have you decided which trees to pair them up with. That would be the fun part for me.

Leslie,
Those are great. I'd love a mud man on a swing. :)

Is that what they are called?...mudmen?

Keith...Where abouts are you in the New York state? Come to Peterborough (two and a half hours North East of Toronto) and I will take you to see this lady at the market! :cheer: Yes, these are either ceramic or porcelain - and she has lots of them. They are $2.00 Canadian for a single figure and $3.00 for the group figurine.

Lance...I will keep and eye open for one on a swing for you, K? ;)

That's what they are called. Here's a decent article on them. I don't care if they aren't traditional.... I like them
