Fukien Tea dropped all leaves after repotting. Is there still hope? was created by brentatx

Repotted my Fukien Tea bonsai 2 weeks ago. This is my first bonsai and first repotting so I'm sure I made mistakes. I think I might have been too aggressive combing out the roots with a chopstick and lost too many feeders? All leaves dropped within a few days and I had pretty much accepted that it was a goner. However, there does appear to be some new growth:

There are a few spots like this on the tree but they have remained the same for days now. I also did a scratch test (which I now know isn't that helpful) and there is green under the bark. Is there still hope?

With fukiens there are never any hope. Repot and they die, prune and they die. Keep it in low humidity it will get aphids and die. Heck, even playing the wrong music or sneesing will make it die. Get another species.
