Currently I use dyna grow bonsai pro liquid fertilizer, have heard from a few club members that they like bio gold better than liquid fertilizer, and it actually is better than the liquid types. Just wondering peoples thoughts on it.

Liquid fertilizer tends to wash away with watering or frequent rain. Solid stays on the soil and dribbles out slowly with water and rain.

I have used Biogold for many years, both solid and in liquid form. I would not use anything else, although there are other fertilisers that are good. It is expensive, yes, but it is a good balanced fertiliser.

I dont see any reason to buy expensive organic waste from Japan. We have a lot of alternatives locally and cheap.

Organic waste? I have used other fertilisers but as yet I have not found anything as good. It has only become expensive because of transport costs in the last two years. It is still good value, I use about 5Kg in a season, that is £75, well worth it for my trees.

Well, it is organic byproducts after all. The magic to it is slow decomposion. I am sure it is possible to find something similar that dont have to be shipped all over the world. I dont have tree that refined yet that I see reason for organic slow release fertilizer. Osmocote, nettle juice and koi poop works good for me.
